Just Get Over Claiming ‘Gay is a Choice’

I am left-handed. I really am. I was born this way. I didn't choose to be left-handed. But I am. It's not the norm, but I'm OK with that. Please don't try to make me right-handed. Don't send me to therapy. Don't make centuries of suspicion define me on the moral spectrum. We've outgrown that. We have toilets now, so the proverbial 'wiping hand' is not an issue either. Conforming is easy, and expected. Conformity is glue that binds families and tribes, societies and religions. The pressure to conform is constant, relentless. Resisting conformity takes courage and strength. I lack both, but today I resolve to change.
